This Opening Friday, July 7 2023 is the start of a 7 week Eastern Shore Art Center show of Maria's work celebrating 50 years of pottery making and expressions in clay.
The ESAC show begins on the 7th and spans into August with a second Fairhope First Friday Opening at ESAC on August 4. Visits may be made any day during this 2 month period within ESAC's open hours.
The ESAC exhibition ends August 30th. |

A Free Public Event
Both the Anagama and the Ralph Howard
Phillips Groundhog kilns will be opened.
Pots fired in the two kilns shall be removed
from the still hot kilns for viewing and
many shall be available for purchase.

This Opening is the culmination of firing and loading the ESAC Manibigama wood-fired kiln on the previous weekend. The fired pots are removed from the kiln while still warm, having cooled since Sunday.
Participants may, and do aid in the unloading in a relay chain that allows each person to examine the pot as it is handed to the next member of the relay chain.
The pots are left displayed in their removal order until all new pots are out of the kiln and photo records have been made. Refreshments are usually on hand. |

The OUTDOOR ART SHOW is located on the grounds of the Eastern Shore Art Center and the surrounding downtown area of Fairhope, Alabama. It is within walking distance to Mobile Bay and many specialty shops and restaurants. This show is a cultural and social highlight for the Gulf Coast that attracts more than 250,000 visitors.
The art show has included prestigious international and regional fine artists for the past 48 years. This year, the Eastern Shore Art Center will accept an exclusive selection of renowned artists and cutting-edge newcomers to attract attendees that include the most respected art dealers, collectors, interior designers and art enthusiasts. |
